About Downtown Hoboken

Downtown Hoboken is the end of the Mile Square that does the most walking. Washington Street is the commercial spine, the numbered streets run east to west off it, and Hoboken Terminal sits at the southern tip. Which is why this end of town fills up first on a weekend morning and why a brunch that runs to 4 PM matters here more than anywhere else.

From most of the downtown grid we are a walk rather than a trip. Willow Avenue is one block west of Washington, so the detour is measured in minutes. That also means the back patio tends to catch the people who have already been somewhere else and found a queue.

The civic fixtures at this end of town all sit within a half mile straight line of our door: Church Square Park at 0.27 miles, the PATH entrance at 0.35, Hoboken Terminal at 0.38 and Pier A Park on the waterfront at 0.45. Those are measured distances from real coordinates, not walk times, and each one makes a usable meeting point before or after the table.

Getting here from Downtown Hoboken

Uncle Rocco is on Willow Avenue in Hoboken. Willow runs north to south through the middle of the Mile Square, which is why almost everywhere in town is a walk rather than a journey. Street parking runs along Willow. The current rules and schedules are published on the City of Hoboken transportation and parking page, which is worth a look before you set off rather than taking our word for it.

If you would rather not drive, Hoboken Terminal is the hub, the PATH, NJ Transit and the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail all meet there, and it is a short trip from our door. That is how most of our guests from Downtown Hoboken arrive.

Worth knowing before you set off: brunch runs to 4 PM, so a late start is still a brunch. The rotisserie chicken family meal starts at noon and needs 45 minutes, so call ahead on (201) 238-2484 if that is what you are coming for.

Such a cute little gem of a restaurant! Our server David was so personable and attentive and made great recommendations! We tried the Watermelon Salad (so fresh!), Mac and Cheese (loved the breadcrumbs and creaminess), and the Big J Burger (excellent smashed burger and bun!). Thank you for having us!

Getting from Downtown Hoboken to 112 Willow Ave

Straight-line, Downtown Hoboken sits 0.3 miles from the door. That is a distance on a map, not a drive time. We do not publish drive times we have not measured, and traffic across this county makes any number we invented useless anyway.

Walkable from most of the downtown grid.

At this distance you are close enough to change your mind on the way. Walk-ins are fine, and Resy covers you if it is a weekend.

Ordering ahead from Downtown Hoboken

Downtown Hoboken is 0.3 miles out, which is close enough that ordering ahead is usually more trouble than walking in. If you do want it waiting, the app carries a rewards programme, which is worth having if you are coming the downtown grid regularly rather than once.

The one thing to hold in your head: Monday to Thursday the room closes 1 PM to 5 PM. Close as you are, that is still a wasted walk.
