About Weehawken

Weehawken sits immediately north of Hoboken on the Palisades, the cliffs that look straight across the Hudson at midtown Manhattan. It is the New Jersey mouth of the Lincoln Tunnel and the home of the Port Imperial ferry, so it is a place people pass through as much as live in.

That geography puts us a few minutes south along the waterfront. Near enough that Weehawken guests often treat us as their local rather than crossing the river. The heated back patio is the part they mention, because a cliffside town gets weather earlier than the rest of the county.

Weehawken is also one of the towns the restaurant names in its own published catering service area, so for a party up on the Palisades the kitchen can make the trip north on the days you cannot make the trip south. The order still comes from the one storefront on Willow Avenue.

Getting here from Weehawken

Uncle Rocco is on Willow Avenue in Hoboken. Willow runs north to south through the middle of the Mile Square, which is why almost everywhere in town is a walk rather than a journey. Street parking runs along Willow. The current rules and schedules are published on the NY Waterway ferry site, which is worth a look before you set off rather than taking our word for it.

If you would rather not drive, Hoboken Terminal is the hub, the PATH, NJ Transit and the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail all meet there, and it is a short trip from our door. That is how most of our guests from Weehawken arrive.

Worth knowing before you set off: brunch runs to 4 PM, so a late start is still a brunch. The rotisserie chicken family meal starts at noon and needs 45 minutes, so call ahead on (201) 238-2484 if that is what you are coming for.

Food here is delicious and service was great! The waiter was so nice and explained everything very well. The atmosphere is very fun and inviting. The mac and cheese was one of our favorite, will definitely order again!

We had such a blast tonight! There were eight of us, and we were all super comfy in the back of the room. We were all chatting about the cool and quirky decor. The vibe was just amazing! Most of us went for the smash burger, and it was absolutely delicious! But the California burrito was just as awesome. Even the gluten-free brownie was amazing! The staff was so sweet and helpful too.

I love grabbing lunch here, it makes me feel like I’m stepping into a cleaner version of my grandmothers living room. The food is always so good and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. The bread pudding is such a good sweet treat! I never feel rushed to leave so I really get the most out of my meal.

Such a cute little gem of a restaurant! Our server David was so personable and attentive and made great recommendations! We tried the Watermelon Salad (so fresh!), Mac and Cheese (loved the breadcrumbs and creaminess), and the Big J Burger (excellent smashed burger and bun!). Thank you for having us!

What Weehawken is actually like

Weehawken sits immediately north of Hoboken on the Palisades, the cliffs that look straight across the Hudson at midtown Manhattan. It is the New Jersey mouth of the Lincoln Tunnel and the home of the Port Imperial ferry, so it is a place people pass through as much as live in.

Getting from Weehawken to 112 Willow Ave

Straight-line, Weehawken sits 2.3 miles from the door. That is a distance on a map, not a drive time. We do not publish drive times we have not measured, and traffic across this county makes any number we invented useless anyway.

Just north along the waterfront.

Because this is a genuine trip rather than a walk, it is worth ringing ahead if you want the Whole Rotisserie Chicken Family Meal ($36.00), it needs 45 minutes and only starts at noon. (201) 238-2484.

Ordering ahead from Weehawken

At 2.3 miles this is a trip you plan, so plan it properly. Order through the ordering page or the app and collect, or book a table on Resy so the journey ends in a seat rather than a queue.

One timing trap worth naming for anyone coming the Palisades: Monday to Thursday the dining room shuts between 1 PM and 5 PM. Arriving from Weehawken at three on a Tuesday means arriving at a closed door. Friday runs straight through; weekends are one service.
